Project Overview

Takiacademy.com is a mobile-first and web-based platform launched in 2015 to provide online academic support for Tunisian students from 4th grade to Baccalaureate level. Developed in response to the growing need for accessible, high-quality education in Tunisia, Takiacademy.com enabled students to access lessons in all subjects from anywhere, breaking geographical barriers and offering flexible learning schedules.

The platform also supported a hybrid model with physical centers in cities like Tunis, Gafsa, Bizerte, and Jendouba. As the Product Manager and Research Lead, I led the project from ideation to launch in 2015, working with a team of six to create a solution that empowered Tunisian students. I contributed to the platform's growth until my departure in 2021, by which time Takiacademy.com had reached over 500k subscribers.

Our Process

A student-centered approach to building accessible online education

Phase 1 Discovery & Research

Interviewed 40+ parents, students, and teachers, analyzed feedback from educational forums and local communities, and identified key needs around accessibility, flexibility, and affordability.

User Interviews Market Analysis Need Finding
Phase 2 Ideation & Concept Testing

Created user personas like Amal (12th-grade student) and Khaled (working parent), defined MVP scope focusing on lesson library, live classes, and scheduling, and tested wireframes with 15 students.

Personas Wireframing User Testing
Phase 3 Prototyping & Validation

Built high-fidelity prototype in Figma with Arabic UI, developed MVP using HTML5, PHP, and MySQL for scalability, and piloted with 25 students in Tunis to refine features.

Figma Prototyping MVP Development Pilot Testing
Phase 4 OKR-Driven Launch Plan

Set Q4 2015 OKRs for user acquisition and teacher onboarding, marketed via local events and school partnerships, and launched in Tunis and Gafsa with 10 certified teachers.
